Mesotherapy / Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment in which micro-needles puncture the skin to trigger production of collagen and new skin tissue - for smoother, firmer, younger-looking skin.

What is microneedling?

The treatment is based on controlled micro-injury of the skin - thousands of dense micro-punctures made with a needling device. The injury awakens the skin's building processes: it treats scarring, softens fine lines, rejuvenates the skin, refines texture, stimulates collagen and leaves the complexion looking healthier and more radiant. It also suits acne scars, sun spots and dark circles beneath the eyes.

How the treatment is performed

The aim is to prompt the skin to produce collagen - the protein responsible, among other things, for the skin's suppleness and freshness. The body loses collagen naturally with age and through injury. The tiny needles inflict a light, controlled wound, and the skin responds by creating new, collagen-rich tissue - firmer and more even in tone and texture.

During the session the skin is punctured with a pen-like device, passed evenly over the treated area. The needles are so fine they are barely felt; there can be some discomfort, but it is entirely tolerable. Before treatment, deeply penetrating actives are applied to the skin.

Treatment goals

  • Reducing pitting and enlarged pores
  • Treating scars, including post-acne scarring left by prolonged inflammation
  • Preventive care - warding off fine lines and skin laxity, improving existing lines and delaying new wrinkles
  • Treating age spots and sun spots
  • Evening skin tone and restoring elasticity
  • Softening stretch marks and scars on other body areas (thighs, abdomen)

Who is it for?

Healthy men and women aged 20 and up who are dealing with acne scars, age or sun spots, wrinkles or fine lines, enlarged pores, loss of elasticity or uneven skin tone.

The treatment is not intended for pregnant women, those with chronic skin conditions such as psoriasis or eczema, open wounds or a history of keloid scarring, anyone who has recently undergone radiotherapy, oncology patients, or those with unbalanced diabetes.

What to expect

The treatment lasts 45 minutes to an hour, without anaesthetics. The skin looks red afterwards and the redness may intensify - for 24 hours at most. The skin then looks remarkable, with a marked improvement in texture and fine lines.

Treatment is delivered as a series; the number of sessions is set according to each client's goal.
